Andhra Govt employees retirement age raised to 62 years| Get 23.39% pay hike

Andhra Govt Employees retirement age has been raised by 2 years to 62 years and salaries increased by 23.39%, which is 9% more than the suggested PRC of 14.29% by the Chief Secretary Committee. These are parts of the big bonanza announced by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy for the state government employees after discussions with their associations’ representatives recently.

It may be noted that last year, the neighbouring state of Telangana raised the retirement age of its employees to 61 years.

The Pay revision announced now by Andhra is in retrospective effect from 1 July 2018, and all the arrears will be released within four months, the government said.

  • Salaries have been hiked by 23.39% inviting an additional burden of Rs 10,247 crore on the state treasury
  • The enhanced salaries would be implemented from 1January 2022
  • The revision will apply to employees working on contractual basis also.
  • Pending DA instalment arrears would be paid along with the salary of Januaray 2022.
  • The pending payments like provident fund, insurance, leave encashment and others would be paid fully by April 2022.
  •  The enhanced salary for the 1.24 lakh employees in the village and ward secretariates would be implemented from 1st July 2022
  • The probation period of these employees who were appointed in October 2021 would be completed by June 2022
  • Jobs will be provided to family members of the employees who died of Covid-19
  • 10% of the flats in the proposed Smart Townships scheme for middle-income group, would be earmarked for state government employees who did not own a house
  • The flats would be available to employees at a 20% per cent discount
  • The new committee under the Chief Secretary will look into the drawbacks in the Employee Health Scheme (EHS) for better implementation 
  • The givernment will address various other pending issues of the employees by 30 June 2022
