20 Geologist Job Vacancies| UPSC recruitment 2021

Geologist Job Vacancies: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited applications for the appointment of candidates to fill 23 posts in various government departments. This includes 20 vacancies of Assistant Geologist in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines.

The others being 2 vacancies for the post of Assistant Director (Plant Pathology) in the Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine and Storage, Faridabad and a single vacancy for the post of Agricultural Engineer (Instrumentation) in Farm Machinery Training and Testing Institute, Department of Agriculture.

UPSC has not yet finalized the exact mode of selection for these posts. It will depend on the response to the notification. If the response is large, then the Commission may use options including conducting a Recruitment Test. The details of qualification, place of posting, salary, how to apply, etc., are explained below.

Minimum Educational Qualification

Assistant Director (Plant Pathology)

  • M.Sc. Degree in Plant Pathology or
  • M.Sc. Degree in Agriculture/ Botany with specialization in Plant Pathology
  • Experience: 03 years’ experience in the field of study of domestic and or foreign plant diseases related to plant virus and plant bacteria
  • Desirable: Doctorate degree in Plant Pathology

Agricultural Engineer (Instrumentation)

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering or Instrumentation Technology
  • Experience: 02 years’ experience in the installation, calibration and maintenance of electronics and electrical instruments for automatic measurement and controls, experience in handling strain gauge, sound and vibration equipment etc. from any government or private (listed) organizations.

Assistant Geologist

  • Master’s Degree in Geology/Applied Geology/Geo-exploration/Mineral Exploration/Engineering Geology/Geo-chemistry/Marine Geology/Earth Science & Resource Management/ Oceanography and Coastal Area Studies (Coastal Geology)/Environmental Geology/Geo-informatics

Selection Process To Fill Geologist Job Vacancies
