Minimum Educational Qualifications
I. Project Scientist – III
Discipline: Life Sciences
- M.Sc., in Marine Biology / Microbiology /Biochemistry Zoology aquaculture/ B.Tech. in Bio technology with minimum 60% marks
- Desirable: Ph.D. in the field of marine algae /finfish culture/Ballast water treatment / microbiology
- Experience: At least 07years’ experience in R&D in the fields of marine microbes/ marine algal / marine fish culture/ Ballast water treatment.
2. Project Scientist – II
Discipline: Mechanical Engg
- M.Sc., in Marine Biology / Microbiology /Biochemistry Zoology aquaculture/ B.Tech. in Bio technology with minimum 60% marks
- Desirable: M.E/ M.Tech. in Mechanical / Thermal / Production / Marine / Naval Architecture/Ocean Engg./Industrial Engineering /MOT
- Experience: At least 03years’ experience in R&D, Survey & Planning, supervision or training in the relevant field.
3. Project Scientist – I
Discipline: Mechanical, Thermal
- B.E./ B.Tech. in Mechanical Engg with minimum 60% marks
- Desirable: M.E. / M.Tech.in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Production Engineering, Engg. Design /Computer Aided Design, Naval Architecture / Ocean Engg, Aeronautical Engg
Note: Other Disciplines include Civil Engg, ECE / E&I Engg, Geology / GIS Remote sensing, Life Sciences, Electrical, Applied Geology/ Marine Geology/Marine Geophysics, Physical Oceanography, Chemical Oceanography, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Petroleum
4. Project Scientist Assistant
Discipline: Mechanical
- 3-year Diploma in Mechanical /Mechatronics / Automobile Engineering with 60% marks
- Desirable: Any higher qualification in the relevant discipline/field. Knowledge in software like AUTOCAD (2D & 3D) is desirable and experience in assembly, integration, testing, and field operations, Maintenance of mechanical systems
Note: Other Disciplines include Civil Engg, ECE / E&I Engg, Electrical Engg, Computer Science, Life Sciences, Chemistry, and Ocean Technology
Candidates need to possess BSc. certificates (60% marks) for disciplines such as Life Sciences, Chemistry, and Ocean Technology
5. Project Technician
Discipline: Welder, Fitter, Air Conditioning, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics Engg,

- 02-years ITI Tradesman Course in respective trade approved by National Council for Vocational Training or other competentent bodies
6. Project Junior Assistant
- Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline
- Desirable: About 2 years working experience in a reputed organization and Working knowledge of Computer, stenography and typing
7. Research Associate
Disciplines: Oceanography/ Physical Oceanography /Physics and Life Science
- Doctoral Degree in Oceanography/ Physical Oceanography/Physics /Oceanic Science
- Ph.D. in Marine Biology /Microbiology/Biochemistry/Zoology
8. Senior Research Fellow
Disciplines: Oceanography and Life Science
- M.Sc. in Oceanography / Physical oceanography / Atmospheric science / Meteorology / Mathematics with at least 60% with 02 years of research experience
- M.Sc. in Life / Chemical Sciences with at least 60% marks
9. Junior Research Fellow

Selection Process for Jobs for Diploma Holders Freshers & Others
- The selection of the posts of Project Scientists and Research Fellows will be based on the performance in the interview
- In respect of the other posts, the selection will be based on the marks obtained in the written test/Trade/Skill test.
- The skill test will be of qualifying nature.
- Candidates will not be paid any TA/DA towards attending the Interview / Written examination.
