What is a Territorial Army officer?
Territorial Army (TA) is not a profession or a full-time career. It is only a part-time engagement and in fact a secondary line of defence force consisting of ‘volunteers’ who are otherwise employed in various professions. The country can utilize their service in emergency situations. They have to take training and serve in uniform for 2–3 months every year. The candidates are recruited through written exams /interviews and placed in different ranks as in the case of the regular defence force. For instance, we have Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Lt Colonel, Colonel, Brigadier ranks in TA.
How do I become an officer in the Territorial Army?
